Tao

Tao is an aboriginal name meaning fortress. In spring, Mount Tamia is often covered with tiny flowers, and its slopes extend down to the village. From here, on clear days, you can enjoy unique panoramic views, seeing Nazaret, Las Laderas, Tahiche, Teguise, and even the Risco de Famara and La Graciosa in the distance. It is a village largely dedicated to agriculture, and it is not uncommon to see herds of goats and sheep grazing in its fields. This village has a strong tradition of Canarian wrestling, the native sport.
