Town Hall

The ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Teguise is built over the convent outbuildings of what was the local monastery of Santo Domingo, and still preserves two arcades of the cloister and the original cisterns. In 1956, the municipal authorities agreed to carry out a series of remodelling projects, since back then the site had already been earmarked for council buildings and a public school. Once finished, the building presented a terraced roof and a particularly interesting doorway, with a Roman arch carved in red tuff stone, and an upper balustrade, made from wood.
