Tiagua
A Village with History
In Tiagua, there are not many buildings; it is very well preserved, and its people are very kind and hospitable. Among all these white little houses, we highlight an agricultural museum that is considered the most complete ethnographic museum in the Canary Islands. The estate dates back to 1790, and inside, we can see an old mill, a wine press, collections of tools, photographs that recall the agricultural and livestock tradition of Lanzarote, etc. Here, you can also taste a good wine and enjoy local cheese from the island. At the exit of the village is the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora del Socorro (1612), with its characteristic arched door with a red sandstone profile and its robust whitewashed buttresses on either side.
