Neoclassical Elegance in the Heart of Teguise

Parish House (17th Century)
Located in the heart of the town of Teguise, this former noble residence was acquired in 1903 by the parish priest Domingo Hernández Romero. Its architecture reflects an interesting blend of traditional island construction and the imported neoclassical taste typical of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The neoclassical façade stands out with its stone-framed entrance and semicircular pediment, windows with triangular finishes over stone jambs, and original carpentry, which is rare on the island. With a rectangular layout and flat roof, the interior is organized around a hallway leading to rooms with wooden ceilings.
From the hallway, access is provided to an open courtyard with a water cistern, a glazed gallery, and various annex rooms. At the back, a walled garden remains, framed by a beveled boundary wall.
Part of the historic ensemble of the town of Teguise —declared a Cultural Heritage Site in 1980— this building is also included in the Protection Catalogue of the Island's Plan. Its architectural and historical value makes it a key piece of Teguise's urban heritage.
