The Ángel Guerra Short Story Competition celebrates a key moment with the reading of the jury's decision, which will announce the winning work of its 2025 edition. This literary event pays tribute to Ángel Guerra, the pseudonym of Lanzarote writer José Betancourt Cabrera, a key figure in Canarian literature who was born in Teguise in 1874 and died in Madrid in 1950.
The evening will also feature a musical performance to accompany the event, offering attendees a complete cultural experience in one of the most unique venues in the municipality. An event that combines literature and music to keep alive the memory of one of Lanzarote's greatest writers.
Organised by: Teguise Town Council, Department of Archives and Libraries
